Honoring Mom @ Relay for Life

Bags made for Mom, Priscilla and Grandpa Ed.
Bags that my family made for Mom. I had my brothers, sister and Dad up this last week to make our bags. It was great sharing our memories of Mom and wondering what we should put on our bags. Most of us made Rainbows!!

Breckin lighting his bag for Grandma Judy.
Miss Raya checking out her Grandma Judy's Bags.
Breylee lighting her bag that she made for Grandma Judy.
Breckin, Addie and Dad walking the circle at the Relay for Life.
We went to the top of the Grandstands at the fairgrounds to see what the bags read.
-on the outside of the circle the bags read-- Faith Family Love
-in the Middle of the Circle the bags read--Hope Cure
It was amazing to see all the bags lit from above and to see how many bags were purchased to honor the survivors, the ones who lost their battle to cancer and the people that are still battling cancer.

My babysitter Mary's Granddaughter and my friends Joni and Tristan's niece Maddy lost her battle two years ago to cancer yesterday. What a special way to celebrate Little Maddy last night! Her bags were great. Her family made bags that read Princess. I wantedto get a picture of it but didn't get to it. Always thinking of Little Maddy!!!

Mom's Rainbow 6/18/10

Friday Night we were headed to the Bellevue Rodeo with the kids and Dad. The weather wasn't too good during the day and on our way to Bellevue the clouds looked like it was going to storm again. We turned around and went back to Maquoketa. The storm hit Maquoketa again knocking down trees and power lines. We were without power so Dad and I went grocery shopping since the other side of Maquoketa had power. On our way out of Fareway we saw a BEAUTIFUL Rainbow in the dark sky! It was really exciting to see this Rainbow with Dad. It's an amazing feeling when we get signs from Mom. It was special sharing this moment with Dad!
