Tonight I was washing dishes after our Sunday supper at Dad's house, I heard a big boom and saw a big flash shaped as a ball right outside of the kitchen window. I jumped and everyone else jumped in the house too. I don't think I have seen or heard lightning that close before. About 30 minutes later Jason went outside to go home, he came back in and said there's a lot of firetrucks at the barn. We all went outside and the Wheatland, Lost Nation and Lowden fire departments were at the barn. We went closer to see what was going on and heard the barn was hit by lightning. No one was injured and all the horses are fine. The damage was to the roof, boards inside and hay.
